After the Surrender: What to Expect When You Trust God with Your Loved Ones

Surrendering our loved ones to God is a daunting task. It requires trust, faith, and a willingness to release our grip on control. But what happens after we surrender?

What can we expect when we trust God with our deepest concerns?

A Sense of Peace

First and foremost, we can expect a sense of peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). When we surrender our loved ones to God, we're acknowledging that He is in control, and His plans are better than ours. This peace is not a fleeting feeling but a deep-seated assurance that God is working everything out for good.

After surrendering, our perspective begins to shift. We start to see our loved ones through God's eyes, rather than our own. We begin to understand that their journey is not ours to control, but ours to support and pray for. This shift in perspective brings freedom from worry, anxiety, and fear.

A Deepening Trust

As we surrender our loved ones to God, our trust in Him deepens. We begin to understand that God's ways are higher than ours, and His plans are better than ours. This trust becomes the foundation of our prayer life, and we start to pray with confidence, knowing that God is working everything out for good.

A New Purpose

After the surrender, we may find a new purpose in our prayer life. We start to pray not just for our loved ones' immediate needs but also for their spiritual growth, their relationship with God, and their eternal destiny. Our prayers become more intentional, more focused, and more powerful.

Finally, after surrender, we develop a greater appreciation for God's sovereignty and love. We start to see that God is not just a distant observer but an active participant in our lives and the lives of our loved ones. We begin to appreciate His goodness, His mercy, and His grace in ways we never thought possible.

Surrendering our loved ones to God is not a one-time event but a continuous process. It's a choice to trust in God's sovereignty, His goodness, and His love. After surrendering, we can expect peace, a shift in perspective, a deepening trust, a new purpose, and a greater appreciation for God's character.

So let us surrender our loved ones to God, trusting in His plans and His purposes.
