Where am I on my walk with Christ?

Ever sit back and wonder am I praying enough, worshiping enough…walking that Godly walk? Am I doing what a Godly woman is expected to do?

At times especially during our trials and tribulations these exact thoughts cross our minds. There are times in our lives when we may feel weary or stagnant and even confused on what direction we are to walk in. Am I answering His call? What is my purpose? And even if I know my purpose…my assignment… will I get it right? So many questions right?!

God does not expect perfection, but he expects obedience. If you are called you must answer.

Knowing your role in your kingdom assignment does include obedience, but it also requires trust and surrender. When you ask yourself where are you on your walk, check your mindset. Do you trust Him?

In the book of Judges, we see a powerful example of this kind of trust and obedience. The Israelites sought the Lord before going into battle against the tribe of Benjamin. God instructed them to go, yet even in their obedience, they faced defeat, not once, but twice.

“And the children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God… And the LORD said, Judah shall go up first.” (Judges 20:18, KJV)

Despite receiving direction from God, they suffered loss:

“And the children of Benjamin came forth out of Gibeah, and destroyed down to the ground of the Israelites that day twenty and two thousand men.” (Judges 20:21, KJV)

They sought the Lord again, wept before Him, and still went up as instructed and again, they were struck down.

It was not until they humbled themselves through fasting, weeping, and offering sacrifices that the breakthrough came:

“Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came unto the house of God, and wept, and sat there before the LORD, and fasted that day until even, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.” (Judges 20:26, KJV)

After that posture of surrender and deeper dependence, God gave them victory:

“And the LORD smote Benjamin before Israel…” (Judges 20:35, KJV)

Sometimes God will tell you to move, and even in your obedience, things may not go the way you expected. That does not mean God was not in it. It does not mean you heard Him wrong. It may mean He is calling you deeper.

Do I trust Him enough to obey even when it does not make sense…even when I do not see immediate results…even when the outcome feels like loss before victory?

Have I surrendered? Do I know what surrender looks like?

Surrender is not just a moment. IT IS A POSTURE.

It is choosing God again and again, even when your flesh wants control. It is laying down your expectations, your timeline, your understanding, and trusting that His ways are higher than yours.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5–6, KJV)

Sometimes surrender looks like waiting.
Sometimes it looks like obedience without explanation or it making sense.
Sometimes it looks like letting go of what you thought it would be.

But every time, it requires trust.

God is not asking you to have it all figured out. He is asking you to follow Him. He is asking you to trust Him in the unknown, in the silence, and even in the disappointment.

Because just like the Israelites, your story does not end in defeat. Victory is still coming.

The real question is, will you trust Him enough to stay surrendered… until He finishes what He started in you? Will you stay in your position until He brings you through to the other side?
