Watchmen Awake: Are You Guarding Your Home or Letting the Enemy In?

We are living in prophetic times. The signs are all around us. Spiritual darkness is increasing. Families are under attack. The enemy is roaming, looking for any door left unlocked. Yet many Christian women have unknowingly stepped away from their posts as spiritual gatekeepers.

We were never meant to sleep through the war.

God has called us to watch, to war, and to protect. As women, wives, and mothers, we carry a spiritual authority to intercede over our homes, children, marriages, and even neighborhoods. But here is the truth. Many of us are distracted. We are mentally exhausted, emotionally scattered, and spiritually passive. The enemy is not even breaking in. He is being welcomed through the front door because the watchmen have fallen asleep.

The Spirit of Distraction

Distraction is one of the enemy’s most subtle but destructive weapons. It does not always look like sin. Sometimes it looks like over-commitment, social media scrolling, endless entertainment, emotional busyness, and misplaced priorities. These distractions dull our discernment and pull us away from the very presence of God.

When we do not guard our gates, what we watch, what we allow in our homes, and what we speak over our children, we unknowingly create openings for chaos, confusion, and compromise.

Where Are the Watchmen?

In Ezekiel 33, God says,
“Son of man, I have made you a watchman… When you hear a word from My mouth, give them a warning from Me.”

This is not just for prophets and pastors. This is a word for you.

You are the watchman of your household. The one who stands in the gap. The one who discerns what is spiritual versus what is flesh. The one who prays before decisions are made, who declares peace when warfare rises, and who teaches her children the Word, not just morals.

Satan fears a praying woman. He fears a mother who is alert. He fears a wife who knows how to wage war in the spirit.

But when we are distracted, emotionally drained, or living out of routine rather than revelation, we become easy targets.

Rise and Return to the Wall

Sister, it is time to return to your post. The call to be a gatekeeper is not about perfection. It is about position. Are you in a position? Are you sensitive to the Holy Spirit? Are you asking God what needs to leave your home, your heart, or your routine?

This is not a time to be casual with your calling. This is a time to wake up and war.
